April 30, 2011 F&M Walks in the Steps of Ben Franklin

Look Who's Coming

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, April 26, 2011 12:00 p.m. (CST)
F&M Walks in the Steps of Ben Franklin

Join us as we examine the life and legacy of Benjamin Franklin, our college’s namesake and Philadelphia’s favorite Founding Father. Our event includes a guided, two-hour walking tour of Old City Philadelphia, lunch at the historic City Tavern, a presentation by F&M History Professor Ted Pearson, and visits from special guests.

We begin with a tour of Independence Hall and wind through the streets that Franklin once called home. We will visit Franklin’s gravesite, Christ Church and Franklin Court, among others. We end our walk at City Tavern with a period-inspired lunch and Franklin’s Poor Richard Ale. No doubt Ben himself would approve!

Whether you’re a Philadelphia native or have never been here before, our day should offer new insights into Franklin’s life and his impact on all of us.

Availability is limited, so register today! If you have questions, please contact Alumni Relations at 866-925-5500. A complete itinerary with meet-up instructions will be sent by email to registered guests the week before the event.
