Celebrate F&M's 225th anniversary with a happy hour and kickoff of the Metro Washington, D.C., Chapter's "225 Hours of Service."
The College-wide theme for this monumental year is "Beyond 225: Inspired for Life." F&M has inspired us throughout our careers as students and as alumni to be continually involved and contributing to the communities in which we live. To honor our anniversary, the D.C. Chapter is pledging (at least) 225 hours of service here in our hometown, and we hope you will help us achieve this goal!
On Thursday, September 27—late in the week of John Marshall's birthday—we will kick off our efforts with delicious appetizers, anniversary cupcakes and a service hour pledge drive. A cash bar will be available. The service pledge will be easy! At this gathering, we will announce a variety of organized service projects available to local Diplomats over the coming months. You are welcome to pledge time to one of these projects, or at organizations that have a personal meaning to you.
Over the next few months, we will track our progress online at https://www.ourvolts.com/site/franklin-and-marshall-225. Then, on Ben Franklin's birthday, January 17, 2013, we will celebrate a successful season of service with an exciting gathering in Georgetown, with details to be announced later this fall.
We hope you will join us on September 27 and help us achieve 225 hours of service in D.C. Be sure to send pictures of your service work and Diplomats in action to Aimee Achorn, Associate Director of Alumni Relations, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Encourage your friends and family to join us, and broaden the impact of our F&M family. Register for the kickoff today, or call Alumni & Parent Relations for more details at 866-925-5500.
