Alumni, parents and friends are invited to join us as we mark the 225th anniversary of Franklin & Marshall College through service to our local community. On November 17, we will gather together for a "weeding party" at Dumbarton Oaks Park.
At 9 a.m., we will meet at the Lovers' Lane gate on R Street between Dumbarton Oaks and Montrose Parks. We will focus on removing vines from the trees in the park -- come help us in making a change! Please wear long-sleeved shirts, pants and closed-toe shoes to minimize exposure to poison ivy and brush. Training will be provided, and volunteers will clear brush from meadows and vines from trees, using National Park Service-supplied tools.
Parking on R Street NW is limited to two hours. Whitehaven Street NW, east of Wisconsin Avenue, has four-hour parking spaces, both paid and unpaid. If you park on Whitehaven, you will then walk through the park and up Lovers' Lane to meet us.
Public transportation options include both Metro buses and Circulator buses traveling on the Wisconsin Avenue corridor. We recommend planning your trip on www.wmata.com.
We hope you will join us! To sign up and pledge your time to this project, visit our project website at www.ourvolts.com/site/franklin-and-marshall-225. If you have any questions, please contact Metro Washington, D.C., Chapter Co-Chair Justine Freisleben '07 at email@example.com.
